What is Access?

Microsoft Access is a giant organiser that can be used for handling lists of data (databases). Access is a Relational Database, which means that it can hold a lot more related data in a more meaningful way than Excel.

Databases are no help if you can’t extract the data later, so Access is also a powerful reporting tool which can create charts without having to export the data to Excel, and create Forms without having to export to a Word Mail Merge - although Access is easily capable of performing these tasks if you need it to

Manuals are available in 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019 versions.

My Access 2013/2016 Database doesn't do PivotTables?!

No, sorry. From version 2013, Access no longer supports PivotTables or PivotCharts like the 2007 and 2010 versions. There has been some heated discussion on the web, but Microsoft has dropped them from Access.
